Hi Andy, sorry to hear that B&WT name mix up, but we know who took them !
I've been meaning to ask you what camera do you have ?
I used to take a lot of photos using my old but faithful Canon T90 (still going !) but recently I've been thinking of modernising to a DSLR and leaning toward a Nikon of some description.

I've got a Canon EOS 1000D - it's towards the lower end of the DSLR range but I got a good package from Argos which included a 70-300 zoom lense as well as the 18-75mm. I was stuck between Canon & Nikon but I knew a few others who use Canon and like them and there are plenty of accessories available, Nikon accessories are fairly plentiful as well - I think either are a good choice if you are likely to add to your kit later on just personal preference really and depends what's around at the time. My Canon certainly hasn't let me down, next thing I want is a bigger zoom lens (400 or 500mm) but they are quite a bit of money so got to save up. I find the 300 is okay most of the time but I photograph aircraft and wildlife quite a bit and for both could use the extra zoom at times. that's one of the thnings with digital photography , there is always something extra that you want to buy!

A friend of mine who was/is a pro photographer once said to me that throw a decent lens on a half decent camera and you get better than half decent pictures ! Having said that, he once showed me a 600mm zoom that was worth over £5K, gulp !
I have to say that I have always had Canon cameras the T90 being certainly the most expensive I have ever purchased along with a data back 90, TTL dedicated flash and 4 lenses, so I was contemplating initially the Nikon D7000 which certainly is a nice camera along with its price tag ! But the D5100 has the same sensor as the 7000 but is a fair few bucks cheaper. Can't say I'm that interetsed in the movie ability of the cameras but you never know !
Just found a Nikon 18-200mm zoom F2.8, very nice except the price: £1600, oooch !
